ANIMAL PARTY

Soft sculptures, vinyl beach balls, willow tree, sound

Ashbridge Estate, Toronto July 3-5, 2025

ANIMAL PARTY is an immersive outdoor art installation and community workshop, inviting visitors into a multi-sensory celebration of care, ecology, and connection.

Set beneath the willow tree at Ashbridge Estate, the installation featured soft sculptures, glowing forms, and ambient soundscapes created from the bioacoustics of the willow itself. Visitors are invited to sit, play, and listen as the site transforms into a living, breathing gathering space that celebrated the relationships between humans, plants, and animals across time.

In collaboration with Ojibiikaan Indigenous Cultural Network and Ontario Heritage Trust, the project included a daytime program — Drawing Ecologies: Garden Tour and Drawing Workshop — where participants explored Ojibiikaan’s gardens and created artworks inspired by the land, Ashbridge archives, and relationships to the more-than-human world.

ANIMAL PARTY is generously supported by the Toronto Arts Council.
